Congrats! We have a single 3 year old boy and we wish they were twins bc we won't be taking a second bite at the apple. I found cats to be amazing training for interacting with your toddler. Understanding how to communicate with a nonverbal mammal has made me really good at reading my kid and what he has been trying to communicate. Which has meant virtually no meltdowns as a toddler, bc he doesn't get frustrated at not being understood.
Congratulations! Let me point out the reverse, though. When our kids left for college we somehow replaced every deceased cat with a bonded pair. Our son is back after graduation, daughter is a sophomore, and the house has a dog and four cats. It’s a zoo.
Congratulations, like someone here already said, babies are a blessing, and so is watching their metamorphosis into children, teenagers and on and on. Pets are a blessing too. I wouldn’t have wanted to go through life without experiencing any of those creatures in my life. It’s quite transformative. “¡Enhorabuena! - Parabéns!”, from the Iberian Peninsula.
