If only we could get people to care about the facts. Seems...difficult.

I am going onto a limb, and damning with the faintest of comparison. But on the one hand this goes hand in hand with those who want to lay on the United States genocide for the dropping of the atomic bombs, for Vietnam, accuse the US/NATO of perpetuating a genocide in Iraq and Afghanistan. That Britain sought genocide upon the Irish, the Scottish, the Welsh as the ethnic nationalists of those countries contend. That is without ignoring that the genocide accusation predates 2023 and has been hurled against Israel since 1948 gaining the largest traction in the aftermath of the Yom Kippur war, and a UN declaration against Israel and Zionism. I don’t think the facts and post Nuremburg framework on genocide is of much concern to such parties.

I think some of the hardest to dispute evidence for Israel's genocidal intent is the stuff they say themselves. Deputy Speaker Nissim Vaturi called for "erasing the Gaza Strip from the face of the earth", the Defense Minister Yoav Gallant imposing a total blockade of all food, another government individual I cannot find the quote for but I distinctively recall calling for the streets to run red with the blood of Palestinian women and children. It's hard to call these statements directly from the government non-genocial.

Genocidal statements and genocidal actions are not the same thing.

There are hotheads in every conflict who say stupid and dispicable things.

True, which is why I specified genocidal intent in my post. You can have intent and restrain your actions. Still though, hotheads are one thing, but these are statements from the highest leaders in the Israel government, not some random soldier or Rabbi.

Does Nissim Vaturi have any say in the IDF's military doctrine?

Fair question. I know nothing about Israel government organization and structure, so someone can correct me but i assume a Deputy Speaker is a member of their legislature, and thus capable of advancing laws governing the military.
